Speaker: Jim Wooley
Topic: Delegates, Lambdas and Expressions, Oh My!
The .Net framework has slowly evolved to allow for different programming paradigms. Over the recent versions, there have been a number of features added to allow for more declaritive and functional programming options. In this session, we will explore the concepts of Delegates, Anonymous Delegates, Lambda Expressions, and Expressions and see how using them can add flexibility and functionality in our applications.
Jim Wooley is a frequent speaker, MVP, and author of "LINQ in Action". He is always striving to stay at the forefront of technology and enjoys the thrill of a new challenge. He has been active evangelizing LINQ since it's announcement in 2005, including a web site dedicated to LINQ called ThinqLinq.com. In addition, he attempts to pass on the insights he has gained by being active in the community, including leading the Atlanta VB Study Group and serving as INETA Membership Manager for the Georgia region.
- Speaker: Ken Brubaker
Topic: Managed Extensibility Framework
Managed Extensibility Framework (MEF) , currently in CTP, is Microsoft’s new Dependency Injection (DI) framework for the .NET Framework. Don Box says his Oslo development team is using it extensively in their development. You can too!
This talk explains how to use MEF’s static and dynamic binding to design libraries and applications that are loosely coupled and provide a greater degree of extensibility and reuse than traditional designs. Backed by the CLR team’s standardization muscle, MEF will become a very important tool in your software designer’s toolbox.
Ken Brubaker, the ClavèCoder, is an Enterprise and Solutions .NET Architect based in Atlanta, GA. Ken maintains a blog at http://dotnetjunkies.com/WebLog/kenbrubaker/.
